The guided tours are operated by The Friends of Drakelow Tunnels and take between one and a half and two hours.

Admission is by advanced booking only.

You will see mostly areas of the former 1980's Regional Government Headquarters, but will also see
some areas of the 1960's Regional Seat of Government and some of the 1940's factory areas.

If you have a torch, bring it along with you, you may find it useful.

We recommend sensible shoes as there is a fair bit of walking to be done and it can get damp underfoot in places.
The temperature underground is usually around 52 deg Fahrenheit (about 10 deg C) so you will need reasonably
warm clothing and we strongly recommend that you do not wear your best clothes !

Wheelchair access is possible but involves negotiating a few small steps at the entrance. A strong 'Pusher'
can usually cope without too much difficulty.

There are no toilet facilities available on site. The nearest facilities are about 1/2 mile away.

There are no catering facilities on site.

Smoking is not permitted underground.
Photography and video taping are not permitted.

If you have a party of between 25 and 65 adults we can sometimes arrange private tours please enquire for details.
